A side of the Cayman Trench comprises of three small islands forming the British Overseas Territory, known as the deepest Caribbean. As I started exploring these small inlets, I actually found that despite a part of the British land, the atmosphere, look, and experience is quite that of the American place, particularly in the Grand Cayman – one of the most visited islands here.
No trace of amazing scenery or bustling nights, still these islands make up a beautiful and promising holiday destination where the inlet of Grand Cayman varies directly with the other two of Crayman Brac and Little Cayman. If the Grand Cayman is the home to commerce, crowd, and creeping long western coastline, the sister islands are famous for its peaceful environs and natural admirations – bird-watching, trekking, diving, and snorkeling.
Grand Cayman
Many tourists consider this island as the Cayman Islands, a shopping paradise, delicious restaurants, thrilling activities, and financial hub on a 22 mile shore. From the Sunrise Villa in the center, we took a drive to visit different sights.
On the Right Turn (The Eastern Loop Tour)
After this, we were on the Bodden Town Road opposite the villa. Listed below are our explorations after this.
After spending some time, we took reverse on the same road. On the Frank Sound Drive at 55 km without taking left via Queens Highway, we visited Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park. At 58.5 km, this is a verdant tropical sanctuary full of indigenous plants, regional plants, other tropical plants, and extinct Blue Iguanas. Then at the end of Drive, we took right and returned to the Sunrise Villa. From the villa, we took left to visit the George Town and Seven Mile Beach.
The George Town is at 10 miles which we reached using a map, as going through the roads becomes easy.
Shopping:
The town is the famous shopping spot as it is fun-cum-huge money savior due to its duty-free shops. You can buy some local arts, crafts, superb jewelry, and watches with 10 to 20% cut.
Island Glassblowing Studio: Wonder here at the glass blowing shows performed besides the Burger King on North Church Street.
Butterfly Farm:
Located on the Lawrence road, this is a rare amazing tropical garden full of colorful butterflies from all around the world. Be eager to learn about the life cycle of these small ones starting from egg and ending at chrysalis from which the new ones take their first flight in early morning. Be at this time, as it is really worth a visit. Further, a tour guide comments on the habits of butterflies. This also forms a rare place for memorable photos of all ages. The last entry is at 3:30 pm and an admission ticket comes with a free pass so that you can go repeatedly here until your holidays are not over!
Seven Mile Beach:
This is the beach of tourists who enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and water sports along white sand, extravagant hotels, and attractive restaurants.
West Bay:
After the famous Seven Mile Beach, be ready to reach the hell in the north! Oh no, do not fear – this hell is specially made a fun place to enjoy it being alive. This is a messy gift shop where you can meet the ‘devil’. At the rear of the shop, explore the million-year-old calcareous rock on which the growing fungus has blackened it. Do not forget to post a postcard with the legal postmark.
Cayman Turtle Farm:
Looking to its story, Christopher Columbus first found the islands and was stunned to see so many turtles at the shore as if they were rocks if seen from a distance. So, the island was Las Tortugas, meaning The Turtles. The Turtle Farm is the only commercial farm since 1968 built to educate about the importance of a conservation of sea turtles. It houses over 16,000 sea turtles whose size is from 6 ounces to 600 pounds!

Boatswain’s Beach:
This is actually a new marine theme park stretching the Cayman Turtle Farm. It main draw is a 1.3 Million Gallon Saltwater Snorkel Lagoon for swimming with turtles and other aquatic living beings. Once can also visit a Predator Tank (only seen by snorkelers), an Aviary and Iguana sanctuary, a Nature Trail, and Blue Hole Sunken Cave. In addition, the Caymanian Heritage Street holding artisans, crafts, and restaurants is worth visiting.
Stingray City:
This is the most widely admired destination that is a remarkable 12-foot dive spot. In its 2-6 feet of waters, you can be thrilled to feel and feed the South Atlantic welcoming stingrays.
On your this long drive on the Grand Cayman, ignore morning and afternoon hours, as you might face traffic.
