The credit of being the golden land sits as the crown on the territory of Thailand. At this statement, you might think that is the country a mine of gold? Well! It is normal for you to think so, but that is certainly not true. The golden land here refers to a type of gleam that the nation emits in its different parts irrespective of the peaks holding gilded stupas, glittering sandy beaches, twinkling smile of inviting people, or shining rice plantations in the plains.

Well, you might feel that I am exaggerating, but no, this is the most stunning fact of this country. Everything is so flashing and mesmerizing. Feel the mind changing experience as I have by self-exploration and you too would have the same opinion as I have.

Thailand Tourist Attractions

Bangkok

This is the capital city of the country holding contrast scenic attractions. Here, we visited the some of the most interesting places.

  • Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall:
This is an impressive royal building built by King Chulalongkorn who was the first Thai king to tour Europe. It interior exhibits the unique Thai architecture, while its interior holds a Western style.
  • Ancient Cloth Museum:
This holds an exhibition of lush clothing and royals’ robes. This is certainly the place for you if wanted to know about fashion.
  • Art Centre:
This is a cultural site that exhibits Thai art including Chula professors and key names in the Thai and global art sector.
  • Assumption Cathedral:
This is a Romanesque red brick church holding gilded interior belonging to 1910 A.D. and once conducted a mass with Pope John Paul II in 1984. Some of the ideal schools of the country are present here out of which you need to pass through to arrive at the cathedral.
  • Baan Krua:
Literally meaning Muslim Family Village, it is among the most ancient settlement in the country. It is one of the flourished communities where the refugees’ wealth grew with their silk-weaving art and with the building of the khlong that linked the hamlet to the nearby river.
  • Baiyoke Ii Tower:
This is the tallest tower with 88 storeys crowned by huge advertising. Go to the 77th floor to be in observation deck for a comprehensive view of the city.
  • Baiyoke Sky Tower:
This is the tallest skyscraper with 88 storeys covering a height of 309 m. The main attraction is the revolving observation deck on the 84th floor.
  • Bangkok Doll Factory & Museum:
You can view both modern and traditional dolls in national costumes and can even buy factory-made doll at the gift shop. As it is difficult to spot this museum, I recommend taking east from Th Sri Ayuthaya.
  • Bangkokian Museum:
This is a set of three wooden houses exhibiting the ignored historic era – 1950s and ’60s.
  • Bank of Asia:
Holding the popular ‘Robot Building’, this edifice does not allow an entry, but one can view its unusual fascia while being in the Sky train traveling from/to Surasak to/from Chong Nonsi stations.
  • Benjakiti Park:
This is the young attraction, which is a 130-rai park holding a large lake and commemorating the Queen Sirikit’s 72nd birthday. This is a good place to stroll between  Sukhumvit and Lumphini.
  • Benjasiri Park:
Again marking the queen’s 60th birthday, this park organizes the open-air events in summer around an attractive lake. We were quite fortunate to glimpse at a game of takraw, a Thai foot play using a cane ball.
  • Children’s Discovery Museum:
Exclusively for children facing the Chatuchak Weekend Market, this museum is where children can see all practical things such as learning how an engine works or play a role of a firefighter. At the rear, one can also visit the toddlers’ playground.
  • Chulalongkorn University:
This holds the boulevard land towards the east of Th Phayathai, which has a seated statue of Rama V (King Chulalongkorn). The buildings here exhibit a fusion of Italian and Thai styles.
  • Church Of Santa Cruz:
Built by the Portuguese in the 1700s, the current gates are of 1913 A.D, worth a visit.
  • Democracy Monument:
This edifice was constructed to mark the shift from absolute monarchy to constitutional monarchy in 1932. Now, it holds pro-democracy rallies along with the catastrophic display of 1992.
  • Dusit Palace Park:
This is an eye-catching site holding the largest teak monument on the planet, Vimanmek Palace; nice manicured grounds; Ancient Cloth Museum; and Royal Thai Elephant Museum. The Dusit Park is the royal asset and it is mandatory for you to wear long pants or long skirts with sleeves.
  • Dusit Zoo:
Once the royal botanical garden, this zoo is full of eateries and offers a playground with a charming lake for paddle boating, enough to spend a day here.
  • Erawan Shrine:
This is the Brahman shrine said to have protective powers and was built after much delays.
  • Forensic Medicine Museum:
Do not fear by looking at the soak body parts, murder tools, and other offensive scenes. They are kept to spread awareness of the crime world. Look out for the preserved body of Si Ouey who was one of the serial killers to slay and eat over 30 children in the 1950s. For some good deeds in his name, the naughty children are made straight by taking his name.

Phuket

This coastal town was once a multicultural centre of the Arab, Indian, Malay, Chinese, and Portuguese traders exchanging supplies for tin and rubber. Here, we visited the following sites.

  • Khao Rang:
Climbing this hill provides you a beautiful view. Ideally, go in the weekends, as the peak is serene at that time. Beware of the horde of roaring dogs.
  • Phuket Philatelic Museum:
This was once a post office building that even now exhibits the historic Sino-Portuguese architecture. Now, it houses stamp boffins.
  • Shrine of the Serene Light:
This is a Chinese temple at the tip of a 50m lane close to the Bangkok Bank of Commerce on Th Phang-Nga. The rebuilt shrine is 200 years holding amazing decoration and calm environs.
  • THAI Office:
This is simply a stunning instance of Sino-Portuguese architecture.

Beaches are there, but one should not swim, as it is dangerous.
