This place was originally launched in the year nineteen eighty five, the train in its current form is as old as nineteen ninety.  The owners here put together many carriages which were rented in these were then called the royal Scotsman.  The Scotsman was launched in the year nineteen eighty five. This train always won the queens award for best Export.

After the first five years, the decision that was taken to purchase these outright set of new carriage. These carriages have been designed according to the specifications of the one purchasing the carriages.

The person who designed these carriages is James Park. Following this, there were ten Pullman carriages that was subsequently bought and then further transported with decorative modifications for all the interiors and woodwork. The company making these interiors was a specialist woodworking company located in Bournemouth. These wooden works were made at Bournemouth and then shipped to the construction site of the carriage and fitted in accordingly.

The first carriages were replaced by the second rake in nineteen ninety.  The new rake came with many incorporated improvements. The cabin crews had their own private facilities. The steam heating facility here was replaced by a good electrical heating facility. The seating arrangements in the observation car and the dining cars were also increased. . The train now had sixteen twin cabins and four single cabins.

The dining car is called the Raven from its former Pullman. A famous cabinet maker , Colin Angell who was from Evesham in Worcestershire; won the contest which gave him the contract to  transform the Pullman carriage from the second class carriage to the Raven which was a better class of comfort and included capacity for twenty guests.

The royal Scotsman is a Scottish luxury charter train that is run by the orient Express hotels Limited. The train has nice cars. Out of these two are dining cars; five of them are state cars, one observation car and one crew car. The two dining cars here are called Victory and Raven. The seating arrangement is made for about sixteen people and the second car has seating for about twenty people.

The observation car was originally a car from the Pullman Kitchen called ‘Snipe’. This was built in nineteen sixty by the Metropolitan Cammel.  While the Pullman car was built, there were others too like the amber, Pearl, topaz and Finch.  These were apparently acquired by GS and WR. This is the Great Scottish And Western Railway Company. The acquisition happened in nineteen eighty nine. This was then converted into a passenger saloon and sleeping cars for passengers.

The Pullman car was converted in the year nineteen ninety two which was to replace the Gresley car. The Gresley car was used as the kitchen. However; the Gresley car was damaged during one of the shunting operations while it was docked at the depot. And because of this, the wooden body of this carriage was deemed further unsafe for passenger travel.  This car was then withdrawn from service of the Royal Scotsman.

The length of the entire train is about six hundred and eighteen feet.

The journey on board the royal Scotsman’s is an exciting one which takes its guests are travelers right from the deep end of the Heart of the highland right through the many beautiful landscapes of the large towering mountains which are pine clad  and are reflection in the  lochs that look like  large still mirrors.

The Royal Scotsman can accommodate around thirty six guest are one time. There are about sixteen twin cabins and about four single cabins. The cabins here are on the high end line of luxury with very comfortable and classy fittings which are sure to give its guests a memorable experience. The facilities that are provided are also very good with large comfortable beds which are all furnished in country style.

The other two dining cars along with the observation car, bracket the sleeper cars. This observation car is set with sofas and small table that are small and good enough to hold the champagne and whiskeys glasses along with the bottles, all through the journey.

The traveling happens throughout the day and the train berths during the night. This is done so that the guests do not get disturbed or troubled during their sleep hours.

When you are on board the royal Scotsman, life seems very relaxed and indulgent.  This place offers the finest and freshest produce amongst dining cars.

In fact after dinner if you go to the observation room, you might be lucky enough to have one of the local clans men tell you tales and legends from the old Scottish books and myths. The Royal Scotsman is one of my favourite luxury trains. It’s one of the most luxurious in the world and probably the most exclusive, with only 36 guests on board at any one time. It also travels through some of the most stunning scenery.
