Singapore is the only territory when you can find the peculiar loom of Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Western cultures. Considered as one of the most pleasant cities of Southeast Asia, the city is free from any traffic jams or crime records. This is something that each tourist needs rather than wants to ensure a soothing journey. Singapore tourism is famous all over.

Migrate through its lush cultural and architectural heritage sites and soak yourself in one of its best draw of delicious cuisines. Yes, this is among the great eating capital cities in the world. Certainly, your visit does not include only all this, but a more surprising and famous visits to its boutiques of extravagant shopping is awaiting you. If you are really looking out for adventures, the city is no exception and that you can expect diving with sharks, mountain biking, waterskiing, go-carting, and rock climbing. Differently, you can spot monkeys and hear their chattering in its island or can explore the primary rainforest.

Unfortunately, I could only explore some of the sites, as my trip was for a short period.

Singapore Tourist Attractions
  • Arab St.:
This is the Islamic site that is a conventional textile area packed with the batiks from Indonesia, silks, sarongs, and shirts along with rosaries, flower essences, hajj caps, songkok hats, basketware, and rattan goods.
  • Armenian Church:
This is the neoclassical oldest church since 1836 devoted to St. Gregory the Illuminator.
  • Asian Civilizations Museum:
This is a worth visiting museum in the restored building of 1865 established over three levels. There are 10 fixed displays of the traditional pan-Asian culture and civilization along with Southeast Asia, China, India, and Sri Lanka. It is recommended to come here with the ACM Highlights guided tour (14:00 Mon, 11:00 & 14:00 Tue-Fri) that do not run from late December to early January.

  • Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum:
This is an attractive site built in 2007 that has well preserved a Buddha Tooth relic inside a 420 kg gilded stupa on the 4th floor. The best time to be there at 10:30 or 19:30 when monks open the chamber ceremonially. Do visit the calm rooftop garden to reach a huge prayer wheel in a 10,000 Buddha Pavilion, the museum, and 100 Dragons Hall. If you are hungry, go to the basement for free vegetarian food.
  • Bukit Chandu (Opium Hill):
Watch out for a moving World War II interpretive centre in the modern villa. Here, the hi-tech displays take you to the battle scene where the Malay battalions fought against the 13000 Japanese soldiers defending the hill in 1942.

  • Bukit Timah Nature Reserve:
This is one of two surviving pieces of primary rainforest in the world. Being the highest point of 163 m, visitors reach here through the lined trail. However, I would recommend heading along the North View, South View, or Fern Valley for a never-erasing experience.
  • Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom:
Holding over 50 species of butterfly, it also holds the Insect Kingdom museum exhibiting thousands of butterflies, rhino beetles, Hercules beetles (largest in the world), and scorpions.
  • Carlsberg Sky Tower:
Located in Sentosa, ride the tower up the 131 m column for spectacular Singapore views.
  • Changi Memorial & Chapel:
The memorial offers photographs, letters, and drawings depicting the terror of World War II, while the chapel is a moving restoration built by the prisoners.
  • Changi Village:
Located on the northeast coast, this village of still environs offers the Changi Beach crowded on the weekends with rotten Johor Straits. Historically, thousands of Singaporean civilians were put to death during the World War II at this beach.
  • Chettiar Hindu Temple:
Called the Sri Thandayuthapani Temple, this is an open-walled shrine of 1984 built on the site of a former temple erected by the Indian chettiars (moneylenders). It is devoted to the six-headed Lord Subramaniam and its worth a visit during the Thaipusam festival.

  • Chinese & Japanese Gardens:
The classical Chinese garden is a pleasant visit with the public houses in its setting. You can visit this while planning a trip to the Jurong Bird Park and/or Science Centre. The park holds the attractive 300-years-old tree. The Japanese Garden is nearby with low crowd hit. This is quite famous in Singapore tourism.
  • Chinese Gardens in Jurong Lake:
Located on an island, do not miss the 176-step pagoda and the bent Chinese bonsai (the 300 year-old Pemphis acidula).
  • Esplanade Theatres on the Bay:
This is an architectural marvel that hosts year-round events of opera, classical music, jazz, theatre, and dance. A guided tour will tell you much about this hallmark.
  • Fort Canning Park:
Located on a hilltop, it is easily reachable by climbing and is full of cool paths and veiled niches. Watch out its giant doors, barracks building, the spice garden, and the Battle Box museum.

  • Jurong Bird Park:
Considered as one of the largest bird sanctuaries on the planet, explore the Waterfall Aviary possessing the largest man-made falls in the world, the African Wetlands, the Lori Loft, and the Birds of Prey show.
  • Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery:
This is the largest monastery in the city that offers dragon-topped pagodas, shrines, plazas, and lawns connected through staircases. Wonder at the Pagoda of 10,000 Buddhas’ golden stupa lined with 9999 Buddha images and the last one as the big boy within.
